So, Sunday 2nd October was not only our 1 year anniversary since we held our first Wanstead dog show at the Cricket Club, but it was the third that we’ve held in that year!

As part of the Vision Wanstead Festival, this is the first year they’ve had a dog show as part of the day and to say we had an amazing time would be an understatement.

The whole festival itself is a great day out every year, although this year postponed a couple of weeks due to the Queens death. Those of you who came to the dog show at the cricket club will remember the weather and how soaked we all were, so we were a little panicked at the weather! But it turned out to be a beautiful autumn day with so many dogs turning up to join in the classes throughout the day and who would be crowned Best in Show!

We had 16 classes this time round; from best male and female, best pair, dog the judge would most like to take home, best rescue, best treat catcher (that was a challenge!), best trick and we have a few more ideas for next year too! We had a great turn out and it was fab to see so many dogs!

We always fundraise for charities at these shows, all the proceeds this time went to the PDSA, and we raised £710 through the tombola and class fees throughout the day. Even more so now, charities need all the funds they can get and we’re incredibly proud to have raised such a huge amount.
